Our Definition of Spam
Simple: We consider any unsolicited and unwanted text or email messages as Spam. We believe electronic messaging is a compelling tool for sending useful and on-demand information and are opposed to the sending of unsolicited messages.
We respect your privacy and understand that spamming is a big concern. As such, we've created an on-demand service: we don't send you unsolicited text-messages, you send us a text when you want service and we respond!
HomeOur Code of Conduct
Our business thrives on many happy users, and we conduct ourselves according to the following rules:
- We believe that spamming puts all the actors in the wireless industry at risk. Banana Mobile does not accept nor send spamming traffic; evidence of any user or venue sending spam messages will result in immediate suspension of the service and/or termination of the contract (actual or implied) between that person(s)/business and Banana Mobile.
- No SMS, EMS or MMS message should be sent to a mobile subscriber without having previously obtained her/his consent.
- There should be a simple and opt-out procedure allowing mobile subscribers to stop receiving SMS, EMS, and MMS messages when they no longer wish to. This can be done simply by sending the keyword "STOP" to the number 226262 (The word "BANANA" spelled out on your keypad).
- Banana Mobile complies with applicable laws and regulations concerning the collection, processing, and use of personal data.
- We do NOT allow any of our 3rd-party partners access to our members list without explict concent from the member. This concent is controlled through a member's profile or direct-confirmation via text-message.
- We do not knowingly do business with any company or person that sends spam.
Our System
The Banana Mobile text-messaging system allows only verified opt-in subscriptions. It ensures that all subscribers can opt-out quickly, easily, and permanently from unwanted SMS communications.
This is done either from our website by logging into your user profile or by sending a text message from your phone to the short code 226262 (BANANA) with the word "STOP".
Banana Mobile maintains an Opt-Out list that restricts our system from communicating with a mobile number that has been previously been opted-Out, as well as a Global Block List to prevent abusers. To the best of our knowledge, our system adheres to all laws regarding sending unsolicited bulk/group text-messages.
HomeSharing of Your Mobile Number
Banana Mobile will not share your mobile number with any of the venues unless it receives explicit concent from you via a preference setting in your profile or confirmation via text-message.
This is our general policy for all your private information. We protect you by letting you select a nickname that appears in all communications on our website and with venues.
HomeOpt-Out / Remove / Unsubscribe / Cancel
If you opted-into a venue's subscription list or any other service we offer and wish to remove yourself, simply log into your profile and use the preferences tool to remove yourself by simply unchecking the appropriate checkbox next to the venue name.
If you experience trouble with this, you may please email us (at remove@bananamobile.ca) with the keyword "STOP" in the subject line and any details in the message body. Be careful when choosing this option as you may terminate an email newsletter or offer you might wish to receive.
If you simply wish to stop being a Banana Mobile member and stop ALL communications from us, then all you have to do is text us the keyword "STOP"
